The Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra continues its season at Cadogan Hall with conductor James Blair in works by Chabrier, Sibelius and Elgar, opening the programme with España, the most renowned work of French composer Emmanuel Chabrier.

As a skilled violinist himself, Sibelius’ deep connection to the instrument is evident in his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, performed by the exceptional Czech violinist Kryštof Kohout.

The evening concludes with Elgar’s Enigma Variations, his most personal composition. The piece beings with the ‘Enigma’ theme, followed by 14 variations, each representing one of Elgar’s close friends. The most famous of these variations, Nimrod, continues to be beloved by listeners worldwide.
